The residents and business owners of Homestead Borough are served by an all-volunteer fire department. The Homestead VFD is made up of 40 volunteers who dedicate their services to protecting the residents and visitors of Homestead from fire, accidents, and injuries.
The Homestead VFD is active in the community, often providing educational programs to the public about emergency health and safety issues. Our brave firefighters are valued members of our community.

For medical emergencies, Homestead Borough is served 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by Munhall Area Prehospital Services.
MAPS serves the community with two advanced life support ambulances, and a third ambulance is available to be placed on standby for pre-scheduled community events.
