One of the biggest barriers to starting a new business isn’t necessarily finances. Often, it can be the rocky landscape of rules and regulations that stall and discourage growth.

Homestead Borough is different.

We believe doing business shouldn’t be complicated, and we offer companies the opportunity to own beautiful spaces and grow their businesses without feeling stifled.

Allegheny County Vacant Property Recovery Program

The purpose of the Allegheny County Vacant Property Recovery Program (VPRP) is to take blighted and/or tax delinquent properties and resell them to an applicant to reuse as determined by his or her application and as
approved by the municipality.

Own or Lease Space in Historic Homestead

Most of downtown Homestead Borough is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

For businesses, that means you have access to unique historic buildings at a fraction of city costs. We work with businesses to help restore historical facades while giving owners the freedom to renovate your space to reflect the personality of your company. You can own your own building and grow your business from the ground up in a space that has charm and character not found in a traditional office park. In Homestead Borough, your business can do more.

DowntownProperties.net has a list of available properties in Homestead’s historic downtown area.

Built To Grow

Homestead Borough is on the move, but we’ve left plenty of room to grow. Your clients and customers will find ample parking at more than affordable rates – 25 cents per half hour at a meter, or $3 for a full day pass. This means you never have to worry about inconveniencing your visitors.

Convenience

Homestead Borough is located off several major roadways, with connectivity to Route 376 on the west side of the Squirrel Hill tunnel, which often sees significant traffic delays on the east side. Downtown Pittsburgh can also be easily accessed via Route 885/Second Avenue and the medical and technology centers of Oakland and Shadyside are just minutes away. Several Port Authority bus routes run through Homestead. You, your employees, and your customers can reach your place of business without many of the hassles of commuting into downtown Pittsburgh.

For more information on moving your business to Homestead Borough, or if you’re interested in starting a new business, please call the Borough offices at 412- 461-1340.
